INTERVIEW

Let's see if we fit.

Next we'll set up a no-obligation interview. This is a chance for you and your sweetheart to get to know me. It's quite important that we feel good together, and yes; your significant other should approve too! It's a family event, and I'll be working with all of you.

I typically like to meet somewhere easy between our houses; sandwich shops or ice cream joints are always a tasty and therefore favorite option.

Bring any specific questions you may have, and I'll bring a copy of my resume and contract and tell you my thoughts on the miracle of childbirth!

Either way you choose to get a hold of me, be sure to leave your name, where you are having your child, and that guess-date from your caregiver. (Commonly, but poorly named your "due date".)

I only take two clients a month, so I will need to make sure my schedule is open. If it is not, I have some lovely doula friends I can give you information about.

DECISION TIME

It's a biggie!

Interview several different doulas to know who's out there. Each doula brings something unique to the table.

Get your honey's honest opinion, and then email me to let me know what you decide; be it yea or nay...

PRENATAL MEETINGS

I prefer two, but it's up to you.

Next we get to schedule prenatal meetings. If we find each other early on, I like to do two seperate meetings.

The first, you'll do most of the talking and we'll get everyone in the birthing room on the same page.. Birth preferences, hopes, and fears will all be let out to breath in the wide open air.

For the second meeting, we'll get down to the nitty-gritty of natural ways to find physical comfort and move labor along.

The Miracle

The experience of your lifetime.

I'll be on call, completely at your disposal two weeks before and two weeks after your due date.

Once you think labor has begun, call me. I need time to get my babysitting in order, so give me a good heads up.

Get into a groove and see what you can do on your own. When you need help, call again and tell me you're ready!

I'll come and stay with you through it all; helping you, helping your husband help you, snapping photos, and taking notes. I'll stay till about an hour or two after your little one has made his/her grand entrance.

POSTPARTUM MEETING

Make sure you're settled.

Lastly, it's important that I come and check up on your sweet new family. I will bring pictures, gifts, and most importantly ... referrals.
